(04/22/13) Richard W. Sampaio, 62, a construction worker, of West Warwick passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013 at home. Born in West Warwick, he was a beloved son of Alice (Caires) Sampaio of West Warwick and the late Oliver D. Sampaio.
An avid outdoorsman, Richard enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Boston Red Sox.
He was the father of Michael and Jason Sampaio, both of Fordland, Missouri. Loving brother of Robert and Dorothy Sampaio of West Warwick, Bruce and Catherine Sampaio of Longwood, Florida, Renato Cookie and Theresa Sampaio of Las Vegas, Nevada, Randy Sampaio of Miami, Florida, Brenda Sampaio of West Warwick, Wendy and Gary Rego of West Warwick, Joyce and James Thornton of West Warwick and Jessica and David Fitzgerald of West Warwick. He is also survived by three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 from 8:30-9:30 am in THE PRATA-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Anthony Church, Maple Avenue, West Warwick. Burial will be private.
