(04/27/13) Phelps, Edwin Bud, 87, died peacefully at home on Saturday, April 27, 2013. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Arthur and Marion (Ballam) Phelps.
He was the brother Don Phelps of West Greenwich and Dick Phelps of Maryville, TN and longtime friend of James Costello of West Greenwich. He is also survived by a niece Judith Ogg, nephews Mark and Tony Phelps and many grand-nieces and nephews.
Bud was an Army Air Corps Sergeant during WWII and a 2nd Lieutenant in the Korean War. He was a school teacher in Gilford, CT, a steward for TWA airlines and was passionate about writing.
A graveside service will be held at Glenwood Cemetery, Cedar Avenue, East Greenwich on Tuesday, April 30 at 11 AM followed with military honors.
