(05/03/13) Cumberland Antoinette H. (Nadeem) Slemon, 90, of Melrose Street passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Fred A. Slemon and the daughter of the late George and Adele (Samra) Nadeem.
Mrs. Slemon enjoyed a life-long career as a seamstress until retiring in 1976.
She was an active parishioner of St. Marys Antiochian Orthodox Church, Pawtucket and its Ladies Society where she participated and supported church fund raising efforts, and particularly enjoyed preparing Arabic food for Church events.
Antoinettes greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren, as well as traveling with her brother and sister.
She is survived by her loving children, Ellen Slemon-Wagner and her husband, Wayne, with whom she lived, Donna M. Slemon of Cumberland, Christina Slemon-Dokos and her husband, Rev. Father James Dokos of Chicago, Illinois, Fred Slemon and his wife, Liesse of Seekonk, Massachusetts; her beloved grandchildren, Dennis and Allyson Loomis, Adam and Liesse Marie Slemon, Nicholas Suite and his wife, Heidi, and Marissa Dokos; her great grandson, Logan Suite; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of Rose Thompson of Pawtucket and Raphael Nadeem of Alexandria, Virginia and the late Nora Arouth, Adeline Simon, Sister Maria Helena and Anthony Nadeem.
Funeral services will be TUESDAY, May 7 at 8:45 A.M. from BELLOWS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln with Services at 10 A.M. in St. Marys Antiochian Orthodox, Church, 249 High Street, Pawtucket. Internment will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Pawtucket.
