(06/25/13) Norman M. Furtado, 73, of Warwick passed away Monday, June 24th at Kent Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Loretta P. (Verde) Furtado. Born in West Warwick, he was the son of the late Jesse and Mary E. (Moniz) Furtado.
Mr. Furtado was president of Greenwood Nurseries, Inc. and was a member of the Rhode Island and New England Nurserymens Association. He was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Warwick where he served as an usher.
He was the cherished brother of Dr. Dolores Furtado of Overland Park, Kansas. Loving uncle of Carlotta Devoll and her husband Steven.
His funeral will be held Friday, June 28, 2013 at 9:30 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 3250 Post Road, Warwick. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday 5-8 pm.
