(09/23/13) Cumberland â Robert Hinchcliffe, 84, of Harriet Lane passed away peacefully Sunday, September 22, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth S. âLibbyâ (Wild) Hinchcliffe.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Fred and Annie (Harcus) Hinchcliffe, he had lived in Cumberland for the past 37 years.
Mr. Hinchcliffe was a machinist at Cumberland Engineering for many years before retiring.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in peacetime and was a member of American Legion Post #273.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Carolyn McGlone of Pawtucket and Elizabeth Paquette of Seekonk, MA; one stepdaughter, Janice Taylor of Seekonk, MA; one stepson, Earl Handrigan of Scituate; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. He was the stepfather of the late Carl Handrigan.
His funeral will be held THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 26 at 9:45 A.M. from BELLOWS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln with services at 11 A.M. in Wesley United Methodist Church, 55 Woodland Street, Lincoln. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
