(10/21/10) Aline R. (Deschene) Deis, 74, of Warwick passed away Monday at home. Born in Brunswick, Maine, she was a daughter of the late William and Yvonne (Michaud) Deschene.
Ms. Deis was an Office Manager for Providence Y.M.C.A. for 17 years, retiring in 2000. She was an avid reader and had a great sense of humor and wit. She took great pride in caring for her family and was devoted to the care of her pets.
She was the beloved mother of Nancy L. Calenda and her husband Dr. Alexander Calenda of East Greenwich, Erica A. Deis-Colpus and her husband Derek of Bourne, MA and the late Deborah U. Deis. Loving grandmother of Michele and Dominique Deis and Alexander III and Brandon Calenda. Cherished great grandmother of Jack Davis Holmes. Caring sister of Paul Deschene of Lewiston, Maine and the late Nancy Deschene.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 3250 Post Road, Warwick. Burial will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to Providence Y.M.C.A. Youth Activities Program, 371 Pine St., Providence, RI 02903 would be appreciated. .
