William E Stromberg - , RI

(03/03/14) William E. Stromberg, 89, of Meadow Drive died Sunday at the West View Health Center. He was the husband of the late Shirley M. (Anderson) Stromberg. Born in Providence, a son of the late Gunnar and Mary V. (Hunt) Stromberg, he had been a West Warwick resident for 57 years. Mr. Stromberg was an electrician with Local 99 I.B.E.W. for 40 years before retiring in 1986 and was a member of Local 99 for 71 years. He was a WWII Army Veteran and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He leaves four sons, William M. Stromberg of Colorado Springs, CO; Edward F. Stromberg of Weymouth, MA; Paul F. Stromberg of Warwick and Michael G. Stromberg of Lincoln; two daughters, Ann M. Barone of Johnston and Mary C. Lancellotta of Coventry; 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was the brother of Claire M. Lowe of Coventry, Ann G. Daley of Coventry, Joseph C. Stromberg of N. Scituate; Richard E. Stromberg of South Kingstown and the late Ruth A. Reid. His funeral will be Thursday at 8:45 am from the Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church, Crompton, 70 Church Street, West Warwick at 10AM. Calling Hours Wednesday 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory to the Providence Rescue Mission 627 Cranston St. Providence, RI 02907 will be appreciated. Burial with military honors will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. www.trainorfh.com.
