(03/15/14) Coventry- Philip B. Watson Jr., 65, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Kent Hospital in Warwick. Phil was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis when he was 36 years old and overcame many challenges in his 30 year struggle with MS. Born in Providence; he was the son of the late Philip B. and Marjorie (Woollett) Watson.
Phil was a television repair man before being diagnosed with MS. He shared much love with his family and friends; he will be greatly missed. Some of his interests were listening to music, especially Elvis Presley; spending time on his computer, watching the New England Patriots, and challenging his mind with trivia and other historical facts. Phil was an inspiration to those who knew him.
Philip is survived by a brother: Thomas Watson and his wife Prudy of Coventry and a sister Kathy Pelletier and her husband Robert of West Warwick; one niece and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert Watson. A special thank you is made to many other family members including his extended family of health care providers from Cowesett Home Care.
A Celebration of Philipsâ Life will be held at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick on Sunday, March 16 at 3:30 PM. Family and friends may pay their respects from 1-3:30PM prior to his Celebration of Life.
