(10/27/10) West Greenwich – Carl W. St. Onge Jr., 83, died Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Riverview Health Care in Coventry. He was the beloved husband of Mary E. (Bumpus) St. Onge. Mr. and Mrs. St. Onge celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on October 8, 2010. Born in Providence, a son of the late Carl W. and Esther (Weber) St. Onge Sr., he had lived in Warwick before moving to West Greenwich twenty years ago. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II. For many years he worked in the Trust Department of the Rhode Island Hospital Trust National Bank. Mr. St. Onge was a founding member of the former Warwick Congregational Church. He was a volunteer at the Rhode Island Community Food Bank and was a member of the Warwick JayCees and of the Little Rhody Model “A” Club. Besides his wife he is survived by one son Douglas N. St. Onge and his wife Jackie of Highland, CA and two daughters Carol E. Birtwistle and her husband Ken of West Warwick and Katherine A. Morgan and her husband John of Scituate. He was the beloved \"Popi\" of seven grandchildren, Kristin Ring, Jeffrey Silvers, Clifford, David and Kyle Morgan and Danielle and Neal St. Onge and nine great grandchildren, Amanda and Mitchel Ring, Peyton and Keaton Silvers, William, Charlotte, Samuel, Matthew and Isaac Morgan. He was the brother of the late Richard W. St. Onge. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM in Woodridge Congregational Church, 546 Budlong Road, Cranston. A gathering will follow on Saturday from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at the Doric Masonic Center, 1237 Reservoir Avenue, Cranston for all who wish to visit with the family. Interment with military honors in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown will be private.
