(07/26/14) David E. Rothfuss, 69, of Coventry passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at U-Mass Medical Center following a short unexpected illness. He was the husband of the late Gertrude E. \"Trudy\" (Ramsdell) Rothfuss. Born in Newport, RI, he was a son of the late Alfred L. and Laura (Rankin) Rothfuss.
Mr. Rothfuss was a Civil Engineer with the Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics Corp. until his retirement in 2004. He graduated from Pilgrim High School, U.R.I. and received his Masters Degree from the University of Connecticut. He was a member of Warwick Central Baptist Church and the Quonset-Davisville Naval Yacht Club.
He was the beloved father of Cristin L. Rothfuss (Jennifer A. Miller) of Medford, MA, Pamela R. Switzer (Peter J.) of Marlborough, NH and Jacquelyn J. LaPlante (Brian) of Scituate, RI. Loving grandfather of Wyatt, Josie, Emma, Jared and Abbie. He was the brother of the late Alfred L. Rothfuss.
His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 10:00 am in Warwick Central Baptist Church, 3270 Post Road, Warwick. Burial will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 5-8 pm in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95).
