Dana (Woodberry) Saccomanno - , RI

(08/06/14) Warwick – Dana (Woodberry) Saccomanno, 76, died Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, RI. She was the beloved wife of the late Pat G. Saccomanno who died in 1979. Born in Beverly, MA, the daughter of the late Edward H. “Ned” and Margaret L. “Peg” (Wood) Woodberry, she worked for many years as a sales associate and merchandise buyer for several local ski shops. She previously was a fashion coordinator in New York City. Dana was a member of St. David’s on-the-Hill Episcopal Church, Cranston and a long-time member of the Newport Ski Club. \"Nana Dana\" was an amazing knitter, especially of socks and sweaters. She loved dogs and just one month ago she lost her beloved companion of fourteen years, “Bobby”, a Belgian Tervuren. Her family remembers her as a bright and energetic person who enjoyed the outdoors, socializing with friends, walking her dog, laughing, drinking coffee, and skiing the black diamonds. As a single parent for 35 years, she always prioritized her children. She is survived by one daughter: Susan D. Saccomanno & her partner of 21 years, William Long, of Portland, OR; one son: Armand M. Saccomanno & his wife Emilie Krueger-Saccomanno of North Windham, CT and three grandchildren: Emma L. Long, Mabel S. Saccomanno and Shelby G. Saccomanno. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. David’s on-the-Hill Episcopal Church, 200 Meshanticut Valley Parkway, Cranston.
