(11/29/14) Cumberland – Manuel A. Medeiros, 93, of Cumberland died Friday, November 28, 2014 at the Holiday Retirement Home, Manville. He was the husband of Deolinda (Esteves) Medeiros. Born in Cumberland, a son of the late Manuel and Eufrosina (Tavares) Medeiros, he had lived in Cumberland for most of his life. Mr. Medeiros was a serviceman and driver for McKee Bros. Oil Corporation, Cumberland for many years before retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Filibuster Club, Cumberland. He served as a Gunner’s Mate in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Sandra L. Simpson and her partner, William S. Roberts of Pawtucket; one sister, Elise Cronshaw of Cumberland; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one niece. His funeral will be held Tuesday, December 2 at 11 A.M. at BELLOWS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial, with military honors, will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
