(12/03/14) Cumberland â Mark A. Garvey, 57, of Sun Valley Drive died peacefully on December 3, 2014 at Miriam Hospital, Providence surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Diane (Jutras) Garvey for 34 years.
Born in Seekonk, MA, a son of Gilchrist and Dorothy I. (Vine) Garvey of Cumberland, he had lived in Cumberland for the past 25 years. He was a 1975 graduate of Seekonk High School.
Mark worked for Balfour, Inc., Attleboro, MA for 19 years and then at Tiffany & Company, Cumberland for the last 14 years.
Mark was a member and Past Honorary Master of Lafayette Lodge #47, F. & A.M., Cumberland. He was proud to have been a 32nd Degree Mason.
Mark was a fan of all New England sports teams, but especially loved going to Pawtucket Red Sox games with his children. He was a devoted and selfless husband and father who always worked tirelessly to ensure his family had everything they needed.
Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by his devoted children, Beth-Anne Pantazi and her husband Nicholas of Las Vegas, NV, Allison Piparo and her husband Timothy of Las Vegas, NV and Mark A. Garvey, Jr. of Cumberland; his brothers, Stephen Garvey of East Greenwich and David Garvey of Chattanooga, TN; his sister, Lisa Brainerd of Charleston, SC; his beloved grandchildren, Melody Garvey and Andrew Pantazi; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandson, Daniel Piparo.
His Services will be held Saturday, December 6 at 10 A.M. at BELLOWS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial will be private.
