(01/09/15) Coventry - Shirley A. (Boss) Tyler, 78, of Phillips Hill Road, died Friday, January 9, 2015 at Kent Hospital, Warwick. She was the beloved wife of the late Claude N. Tyler, Jr. to whom at the time of his death in 2007 she had been married 55 years.
Born in Warwick, she lived in Coventry for many years and for 15 years had been a winter resident of Ocala, FL. She worked for 25 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the labor & delivery room at Kent Hospital before retiring.
She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed bowling and bingo and she loved camping.
She is survived by her son Claude N. Tyler III & his wife Sandra of West Greenwich; her son Matthew D. Tyler & his wife Wanda of Coventry; her daughter Claudia Mathieu of Coventry; her beloved daughter Judy A. Tyler at home; her daughter Wendy Touchette & her husband Michael of Lady Lakes, FL; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Funeral service at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick, Monday, January 12 at 11:30 AM. Calling hours Sunday 2-4 PM. Burial will be in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
