Maxine S (Sutphin) Palmer - , RI

(11/19/10) Maxine S. Palmer, 82 died Sunday November 14, 2010, at Dogwood Village Nursing Home in Orange, VA. She was the wife of the late Earl S. Palmer, Jr. Born in Front Royal, VA, she was the daughter of the late Marcus and Grace (Johns) Sutphin. Mrs. Palmer had worked at Jordan Marsh. She had sung in the choir for 45 years and served as historian and President Women’s Society, and was secretary of the East Greenwich Methodist Church, and was secretary of the Order of Eastern Star and the Order of Beauceant’s. She is survived by her daughter, Jane E. Unbehagen of Bumpass, VA, three sons Stephen Palmer of Cranston, Earl S. Palmer, III of MD and Thomas A. H. Palmer of AL, her sister Hilda Curtin of MD, ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 10 am at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick, calling hours Tue. 6-8pm.
