(04/04/15) Cumberland â Caroline A. (Duckworth) Egerton, 85, of Cumberland died Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Mount St. Rita Health Centre, Cumberland surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Robert E. Egerton. Mr. and Mrs. Egerton were married 66 years this past December 25th.
Born in Lincoln, a daughter of the late John âJackâ and Sarah (Browning) Duckworth, she had lived in Cumberland for over 40 years.
Mrs. Egerton was a nurse at Women & Infants Hospital, Providence for 17 years retiring in 1994. She was a graduate of Cumberland High School and received her degree from Rhode Island College.
She was a member of Four Corners Community Chapel, Cumberland.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Sarah Mittleman and her husband, Steven of Framingham, MA, and Amy Dark and her husband, Irving of Lincoln; three sons, Robert E. Egerton, Jr. and his wife, Angela of Marthaâs Vineyard, MA, John Egerton and his wife, Karen of North Smithfield, and William Egerton and his partner, David Thorpe of Houston, TX; ten grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Dwight L. Egerton.
Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 7 at 11 A.M. at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial will be in Moshassuck Cemetery, Central Falls.
