(05/23/15) Lucy E. (Paolucci) Simas, 88, of West Warwick, died Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Kent Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred R. Simas.
Born in Warwick, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Carmella (Carano) Paolucci. Lucy was employed as a cashier at Kent Hospital for 21 years until retiring in 1988.
Lucy is survived by her devoted son: Leonard R. Simas of West Warwick; a brother: Herman Paolucci of Warwick and nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Domenic Paolucci and James Paolucci, U.S.N., who died at Pearl Harbor.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 8:30 AM from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Ave., Warwick (Exit 12-A off I-95). Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 596 Jefferson Blvd., Warwick. Burial will take place in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
