(06/23/15) Joan (Jean) Andrews, of Warwick passed away June 22, 2015. She is the daughter of the late Adolph Benvenue and Viola Shaffer, born in Staten Island, NY, on December 16, 1925.
Jean enjoyed dancing at the USO during WWII where she met, then married Joseph Andrews. They moved to Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Florida. Jean and Joe had 4 children. Daughter Gail Bergantino of Warwick, & sons Bob of North Carolina, and Steve & Lee Andrews of Florida. She leaves 5 grandchildren, Dawn & Benny Bergantino, Jeff Andrews, and Erin & Kendra Andrews.
Jean was an office manager at Riverpoint Lace Works in West Warwick, before retiring in Florida, then moving back to R.I. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph and second husband John Connors. She was active with the Warwick Elks ladies, the Moose ladies and VFW post 4781 in Ocala, Fl.
In lieu of flowers she asks that donations be made to the ASPCA or Humane Society.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 6:30-7:30 pm at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick. Burial at Florida National Cemetery.
