(12/07/10) DeCIANTIS, Ralph, 98, of East St., West Warwick, passed away Monday, Dec. 6, 2010 at Kent Hospital.
He was the husband of Helen C. (Anderson) DeCiantis to whom he was married for 25 years and the late Laura (Ratte) DeCiantis. Born in the Natick section of Warwick, a son of the late Francesco and Emelia (Rotondi) DeCiantis. He was a resident of Warwick before moving to West Warwick.
Mr. DeCiantis was co-owner of the former DeCiantis Bros. Dairy for many years before retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Auto Club of RI where he was known as the âFlying Milkmanâ for which he won two New England Championships and the RI Dairy Association. He was an avid race car enthusiast and enjoyed collecting antiques.
Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Laurea E. DeCiantis of North Scituate; a son, Ralph DeCiantis, Jr. of West Warwick; three step-children, Connie Mello of Cumberland, Judy Shea of Barrington and Paul Pasch of Coventry and three grandsons. He was the brother of the late Assunta Petrarca, Lena, Anthony, James, Louis, Romeo, Michele and A. Frank DeCiantis.
His funeral will be held on Friday, Dec. 10, 2010 at 9 am from the HENAULT-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy St., West Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am in St. John the Baptist Church, 20 Washington St., West Warwick. Internment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Warwick.
