(07/20/15) MEDEIROS, Joao M., 64, of Irene St., Warwick, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, July 18, 2015.
He was the beloved husband of Maria F. (Adaes) Medeiros, they had been married for 34 years. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, a son of the late Manuel J. and Maria C. (Ramos) Medeiros.
Mr. Medeiros was employed in construction with Stand Corp. of Warwick for many years. He was an active communicant of St. Anthony Church, loved spending time with family and friends, gardening, traveling, the ocean, mountain hiking and his beloved cat, Jovi.
Besides his wife he leaves a son, Kevin A. Medeiros and his wife Ressay of Warwick; a daughter, Amy A. Medeiros of Warwick; six brothers, Antonio, Jose, Gilberto, Virginio, Jaime and Carlos Medeiros and three sisters, Maria L. Guerreiro, Fernanda Dorosko and Cecilia Maliangos.
His funeral will be held Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 9 am from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence St., West Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am in St. Anthony Church, Maple Ave., West Warwick. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday 5-8 pm.
