(12/15/15) George A. Flynn, 87, of Warwick, died on Sunday, December 13, 2015, after a brief residency at St. Elizabeth\'s Home in East Greenwich, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Margaret (Holmquist) Flynn for 65 years. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Mr. Flynn was a son of the late Daniel and Louise (Perasa) Flynn. A talented artist, Mr. Flynn\'s love of art began early in life, and became both a career and a passion. He attended The Pratt Art Institute while in New York. His diving knowledge and artistic and writing abilities allowed him to joyfully contribute to books authored by close friends on diving RI\'s waters. If not found in or under the water, or painting oils or watercolors of it, Mr. Flynn could often be found walking by the coast with one of his much loved Irish Wolfhounds and a son or daughter. Mr. Flynn was an army veteran of the Korean War, 424th Field Artillery Battalion. Besides his wife, he is survived by six of his seven children, Kathleen McGowan and her husband Lawrence of Burrillville, Linda North and her husband William of Coventry, Patrick Flynn of Warwick, Timothy Flynn and is wife Lynn of Coventry, Matthew Flynn of Warwick, and Christopher Flynn and his wife Lori of Foster. He was the father of the late Michael Flynn and brother to the late Daniel Flynn and the late Louise Johnson. All benefited from his quick wit, unfailing optimism, interested involvement and generous support A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Dec.18, 2015 at 10:30 am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 596 Jefferson Blvd., Warwick, RI.
