(01/02/11) William T. Ratigan, 91, of East Greenwich passed away peacefully at home on December 31, 2010, surrounded by his family. Born in New York City, he was the son of John J. and Mary (Bloomer) Ratigan. Bill was a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and earned an MBA from Columbia University. He served in the Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II. A CPA, he worked in the accounting firm Arthur Young and Company (later Ernst and Young) for 25 years, retiring as a principal. He then worked as an Audit Manager in the office of the Rhode Island Auditor General. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia (McKanna), children John and his wife Robin, Gerard and his wife Laurie, Peter and his wife Kara, Mary Rossetti and her husband Tom, Dan and his wife Laura, and 15 grandchildren. He was the brother of the late John H. \"Jack\" Ratigan of Atlanta, GA and the late Sr. Muriel Ratigan of Rosemont, PA. Bill was a communicant of St. Francis de Sales parish. He was an avid vegetable and flower gardener, a suburban pioneer who in the 1970\'s located his garden in his home\'s front yard. Friends may call at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home and Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Ave. West Warwick, Wed 4-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday January 6, 2011 at 10am in St. Francis de Sales Church, 381 School St. North Kingstown. Burial with full Military Honors will be in St. Mary\'s Cemetery, West Warwick. Should friends desire contributions to St. Francis de Sales Church Building Fund would be appreciated.
