(02/03/11) Barrett, Eugenie (Jean) Maud Neville, 83, of Chatham Circle, Warwick. On February 3, Jean passed as she had lived, grace-filled and embraced by the reflection of her love in her family surrounding her. Born September 9, 1927 in Albany, NY, a daughter of the late Richard and Theodora (Formel) Neville, she was the devoted wife of Dr. Joseph T. Barrett for 60 years. Jean graduated from the University of Buffalo Nursing School and worked at St Joseph’s Hospital in Providence. Throughout her 60 years in Warwick, she loved her home in Buttonwoods where she enjoyed golf at Warwick Country Club, gardening, reading, and walking. She was a communicant of St. Francis Church. A loving mother, her greatest joy was spending time with her family. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her 7 children and their spouses; Kathleen Almon and her husband William, Nancy Enos and her husband Michael, and Mark Barrett and his wife Melissa, all of Warwick; Susan MacDonald and her husband Kenneth of East Greenwich; Sheila McGauvran and her husband Michael of North Kingstown, Dr. Richard Barrett and his wife Serron of Portland, OR, and Joseph Barrett Jr. of Naples FL, and she was “Grammie” to 21 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She was the sister of Nancy Cassidy of Pinehurst, NC and the late Richard Neville and Donald Neville. Her funeral will begin on Saturday, at 8:45 am from the Thomas &Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 597 Jefferson Blvd, Warwick, at 10 am. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited to visit Friday, 4 -7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 597 Jefferson Blvd, Warwick, RI 02886, or to CHANCE Scholarships, “Christian Hearts Advancing New Chances for Education,” a foundation founded by her granddaughter.
