(11/15/11) MATARESE, NANCY (Melillo), 88, passed away peacefully Saturday November 12, 2011 after a short illness. She was the loving wife of the late Giro \"Gino\" Matarese. She was the devoted mother of Steven Matarese and his partner Joseph Amaral of Revere, Mass., and of the late Dr. Phillip Matarese. She also leaves her cherished grandsons; Matthew, Brandon and Aaron and daughter-in-law Gwenneth Matarese.
Born in Providence she was the daughter of the late Domenic and Maria (Palumbo) Melillo. She leaves her brothers Frank Melillo and wife Elena of Hopkinton, RI, Anthony Melillo and wife Delores of Johnston, RI, a sister; Rose Marsocci and husband Robert of Warwick, RI. She was the sister of the late Mena Sukaskas and Anna Moscarelli. She was the beloved Aunt of many nieces and nephews and left many friends. Nancy was well known by many for her fabulous egg biscuits. She was a great hostess and one never left her home hungry.
Her funeral is Friday at 8:45 a.m. from \"WOODLAWN\" Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. William\'s Church, Warwick.
