(12/27/11) Albert J. Urciuoli, 89, of Warwick passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011 at home. He was the husband of the late Eva P. \"Pat\" (Latina) Urciuoli. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Pasquale and Louise (Vecchone) Urciuoli.
Mr. Urciuoli was a Machinist and Toolmaker for Uniroyal Corp of Providence from 1945 until 1976; then was an Educator for Davies Vocational High School for 6 years, retiring in 1983.
A devout Catholic, he was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Warwick and a former communicant of St. Mary Church in Providence where he was active in many parish activities. He was a member of the United Commercial Travelers. As a young man, he served as the first male basketball coach at St. Mary Academy Bayview.
He was the beloved father of Robert A. Urciuoli of Florida and Deborah Ann Urciuoli of Medway, MA. Loving grandfather of Rebecca A. Urciuoli-Anderson. Cherished great grandfather of Mackenzie Leigh Anderson. Caring brother of Amelia \"Mollie\" Zannini of Coventry and the late Joseph, Anthony and John Urciuoli, Mary Ann Souza and Elsie Rapone. He was also the brother-in-law of Rose Johnson.
His funeral will be held Friday at 10:00 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 3250 Post Road, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday 5-8 pm. Burial will be private.
