(02/09/12) Juvinal J. \"BoBo\" Lopes, 65, of Warwick passed away Tuesday at home. He was the beloved husband of Debra L. (Scott) Lopes. Born in Sacramento, California, he was a son of the late Henry J. and Clara (Verea) Lopes.
Mr. Lopes was employed in the Security Department of the Warwick Mall for 23 years, retiring in 2010 and previously for various Downtown Providence stores. He was a staff member of the Tribeca Band, an avid artist and a member of the Fox Point Boys Club.
He was recognized by The City of Warwick and the Warwick Mall for taking action at great personal risk which resulted in the saving of a human life and averting tragic loss.
He was the loving father of Melissa Spellman of Newport. Devoted grandfather of Devin and Peter, III. Cherished brother of Angelina Monteiro and Marianna Lopes, both of Providence, Lewis Rodrigues of East Providence and the late Joseph Pina and Donald Lopes. He is also survived by several step-children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 9:00 am in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday 4-7 pm.
