(09/03/10) Vincent R. Henry, 83, of Quaker Lane, West Warwick, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 1, 2010. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Charles W. Henry and Margaret (Ryan) Henry. He was the husband of the late Mearle Ann (Byrne) Henry. Mr. Henry was a supervisor for New England Electric in public relations until his retirement. He was a graduate of Massanutten Military Academy of Virginia and proudly served in the Navy during WWII in the 29th Seabees Group. He was an accomplished athlete as a youth and as an adult, who played semi-professional football for the Norwood Red Eagles. He was a communicant of St. Gregory the Great Church of Warwick and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He leaves his four children: Brian T. Henry of Trumbull, CT, Christopher J. Henry of Celina, OH, Tracy Mulligan of Franklin, MA, and Cheryl A. Denis of Warwick. He was the cherished grandfather of 11 grandchildren and loving brother of Thomas L. Henry of North Kingstown, Francis V. Henry of Warwick, and the late Walter Henry, Jack Henry, and Natalie Macomlier. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 8:45 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Greenwood, Warwick (Exit 12A off I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick. Burial with full military honors will follow in The RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
