(04/18/12) Vincent D. \"Jim\" Della Cioppa, 76, of Warwick passed away Tuesday at home. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy A. (Dennen) Della Cioppa. Born in West Warwick, he was a son of the late Nicola and Nancy (LaPosta) Della Cioppa.
Mr. Della Cioppa was a Production Planner for Hoechst-Celanese until his retirement in 1992 and served in The United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of the Senior Golf League at Goddard Park and was an avid New England sports fan.
Devoted to his family, he was the loving father of James Vincent Della Cioppa and his wife Karen of Fairhaven, MA and Julie Ann Kehoe and her husband Kevin of Heber City, UT. Cherished grandfather of Emily Della Cioppa and Kate Kehoe. Caring brother of Cecilia Santilli of Warwick, Anne Bettencourt of Fremont, CA, Assunta Saccoccia of New Berne, NC and the late John, Anthony and Nicky Della Cioppa, Concetta Fusaro, Louise Senerchia and Ursula Maciarelli.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 8:00 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in St. Clement Church, 111 Long Street, Warwick. Burial, with military honors, will follow in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday 4-8 pm.
