(05/07/12) Andrews, Richard F., 68, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2012. He was the husband of Linda R. (Magiera) Andrews of West Greenwich. Born in West Greenwich he was the son of the late Burton and Marion (Sprauge) Andrews.
Mr. Andrews was an Army Vietnam War Veteran and was part of the elite 25th Army Infantry Division earning a Bronze Star during his duty.
He was a Past Grand Master and member of the Ionic Lodge No. 28 of Greene, RI. Some of his interests were fishing and hunting. He was a carpenter by trade and in his off time he was a handyman and a master craftsman always keeping busy. Mr. Andrews was a car enthusiast, including owning a 1966 Corvette winning him many first prize trophyâs at car shows. Being an herbalist, he was dedicated to an all- natural healthy life style.
Besides his wife he is survived by two stepchildren: Peter Martin Jr. of West Warwick and Kimberly Martin of East Greenwich; one grandson: Peter Martin, II; five siblings: David Andrews of West Greenwich, Ronald Andrews of Longs, SC, Burton Andrews of Coventry, Judith Taylor of Coventry and Timothy Andrews of West Greenwich.
His funeral service will take place at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick on Saturday, May 12 at 9 AM followed with interment in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
