(09/25/10) Peter Clesas, 90, formerly of Elmhurst Street died Friday at the Scalabrini Villa Health Care Center. He was the husband of the late Catherine H. (Hamill) Clesas.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late George P. and Martha (Pappas) Clesas, he was a Providence resident for fifty years and moved to Warwick in 1970. Mr. Clesas was the owner of the Hoxsie Restaurant for thirty eight years before retiring in 2003. He served as a member of the Warwick Housing Authority for many years and was a WW II Navy veteran.
He leaves two daughters, Sandra P. Angilly and her husband Joe of East Greenwich and Cheryl L. Candon of Warwick; one brother, Pat Clesas of Johnston, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Josephine Saccoccia, Nicholas, James, and William Clesas.
His funeral will be Tuesday at 9 AM from the Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Clement Church, Long Street, Warwick at 10 AM. Calling Hours Monday 5-8 PM. In Lieu of flowers donations in his memory to Scalabrini Villa 860 N. Quidnessett Rd. North Kingstown, RI 02852 will be appreciated.
