(11/12/12) Maria Conceicao (Melo) Casimiro, 89, of Coventry passed away on Wednesday, November 7th at Kent County Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. She was the wife of the late Virginio Casimiro. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Antonio P. Melo and Maria de Conceicao (Cabral) Melo.
A religious woman who was dedicated to her Catholic faith, Mrs. Casimiro was a member of St. Anthony\'s Church in West Warwick.
She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, baking, but above all she enjoyed and cherished spending time with her family.
She was the beloved mother of Maria de Jesus Medeiros and her husband John of West Greenwich, Maria do Santo Cristo Raulino of Coventry and the late Dinis, Virginio, and Alciadora Casimiro. Caring mother-in-law of Margarida Casimiro and the late Joseph M. Raulino. Loving grandmother of Dennis Casimiro, Henry Casimiro, Brian Medeiros, Kristy (Casimiro) Barbosa, Erica (Medeiros) Hayes, Priscilla (Raulino) Lucianno and Natarsia Medeiros. Cherished great-grandmother of Sophie Barbosa, Kenneth Lucianno III, Daphne Barbosa and Liliana Hayes. She was the sister of the late Artur, Dinis, Eugenio Melo, and Gloria Correia.
Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation on Thursday, November 15th from 8:30-9:30am in THE PRATA-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Anthony Church, 1 Sunset Avenue, West Warwick. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
