(12/10/12) Cumberland â John N. Campbell, Jr., 80, died Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Miriam Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Cynthia A. (Neuschuez) Campbell. Mr. and Mrs. Campbell celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on November 15.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late John N. and Grace (Hampson) Campbell, he had lived in Cumberland for the past 43 years. They summered in Buttonwoods for many years.
A printer by trade, Mr. Campbell had worked for the John W. Little Company and Globe Printing, both of Pawtucket and Foxon Company, Central Falls before retiring.
Mr. Campbell was active in the Boy Scouts for 39 years. The Narragansett Council, Boy Scouts of America twice named Mr. Campbell âScoutmaster of the Yearâ and once âDistrict Commissioner of the Yearâ.
He was a Korean War Air Force veteran.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Holly Stowik and her husband, John, and John N. Campbell III, all of Cumberland; one sister, Linda Houlihan and her husband, Richard of Port St. Lucie, FL; one brother, Arthur Campbell and his wife, Marsha of Wakefield; his beloved grandsons, Drew and David Stowik, both of Cumberland and Brian and Eric Campbell, both of Burrillville; his beloved great grandson, Jonathan Stowik of Cumberland; one aunt, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
His funeral will be private.
