(01/07/13) Cumberland â Gerard A. Doiron, 84, of Manville Hill Road died Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of the late Beatrice (LâHeureux) Doiron.
Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Dominique and Armande (Desjardins) Doiron, he had lived in Albion all of his life before moving to Cumberland 3 years ago.
Mr. Doiron was a machine operator for the former Collyer Insulated Wire Company, Lincoln for 22 years before retiring.
He was a communicant of St. Ambrose Church, Albion and a member of the Golden Agers of Manville and Albion.
A Korean War Army veteran, he was a member of Alphonse Yelle Post #9, American Legion, Manville.
He is survived by one son, Daniel G. Doiron and his wife, Lynne of Lincoln; three brothers Edgar Doiron of Pawtucket, Armand Doiron of Arizona and Auray Doiron of Woonsocket; two grandchildren, Ashley and Jonathan; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Sr. Therese Doiron, PM.
His funeral will be held THURSDAY, JANUARY 10 at 8:45 A.M. from BELLOWS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in St. Ambrose Church, 191 School Street, Albion. Burial, with military honors, will be in St. Ambrose Cemetery, Albion.
