(03/15/13) East Greenwich Charles A. Fogell, Jr., 75, of Wildwood Trail passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Doris Dolly Fogell with whom he celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on May 24, 2012.
Charles was born in Providence on April 23, 1937, a son of the late Charles and Bertha (Powers) Fogell. He was employed as an equipment operator by the City of Providence and the Narragansett Bay Commission for 37 years. He was a member of Local Union 1033 Laborers International. Charles was an avid NASCAR fan.
His family is remembering him as a very giving man who loved to tease them and as always taking pictures of his grandchildren but never with an expensive camera.
Besides his wife he is survived by three sons and their wives: Charles E. Fogell and his wife Kim of Warwick, James T. Fogell and his wife Bonnie of East Greenwich and Michael P. and his wife Janine of Warwick; four loving grandchildren: Kimberly, Alicia, Andrew and Charles J.; two great grandchildren: Austin and Zackary; one brother, Robert, of Naples, FL and one sister, Deborah Marsocci of Warwick.
Calling hours will be held TODAY, Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 5:00 8:00 PM at the Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. A funeral service and his burial in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown will be held privately by the family.
