A graduate of Johnson and Wales University, she was a Kent County Memorial Hospital and Blithewold Mansion, Gardens and Arboretum volunteer.
She was the mother of Leandre A. âLeeâ Berard of Somerset, Denise Wilkie (Chester) of Little Compton, Steven Berard (Diane) of Westport, Susan Parrott (Michele Arnold) of Jacksonville, FL and Douglas Berard of Somerset and the late Lynne Walsh (James of Westport); the grandmother of Vincent, Cecelia, Leandre and Rhealynn Berard, Joseph Breden, Kene Barlow, Heather Belcastro, Benjamin Wilkie, Olivia Arnold and Lyndsey Berlo; the great-grandmother of Jace Barlow and Alexis and Nevaeh Belcastro; the former wife of the late Louis-Leandre âLeeâ Berard; the daughter of the late Leo and Oceama (Martin) Francoeur; the sister of Georgette Cox of NJ and also leaves a niece and a nephew.
Her funeral service will be held Saturday afternoon at 5:00 PM at the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River. Cremation to follow.

(11/18/14) Beatrice B. Lawrence, 87, of Summit Avenue, West Warwick, RI, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2014 at Greenwood Care and Rehabilitation Center, Warwick, RI. Born in West Warwick, RI she was the wife of the late Marcel N. Lawrence and the daughter of the late Oswald and Emilia (Lavoie) Forcier.
Beatrice was an electrical technician for fifteen years at GTECH until retiring.
She is survived by a son: Marcel D. Lawrence, a daughter: Patricia D. Baker, two brothers: Normand Forcier and Raymond Forcier, four sisters: Sue Forcier, Cecile Temple, Pauline Kingsland and Jacqueline Couturier, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

(11/20/14) West Warwick - Merilee A. Pratt, 70, died Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence. She was the beloved wife of Harold D. Pratt to whom she was married 48 years.
Born in Warwick, the daughter of the late Francis Johnson and the late Martha (Anderson) Johnson-Erickson, she is also survived by her sons: Timothy F. Pratt & his wife Christina of Glendale and Andrew W. Pratt & his girlfriend Anne Kumar of Cumberland and by her sisters: Sandra Malouin (Philip) of West Warwick and Wendy Capotosto (Kenneth) of Coventry.
She was a graduate of Warwick Veterans Memorial High School. She worked as an administrative assistant for RI Mentoring Partnership, Warwick for 21 years retiring in 2010.
Merilee was a member and deacon of Christ Church in East Greenwich. She volunteered at the Arctic Mission in West Warwick. She loved to read. She enjoyed bicycling with her husband, especially on the carriage trails of Acadia National Park in Maine.
A loving and compassionate woman, she was slow to anger and always put others first.

(11/22/14) Jean (Smith) Martin, 83, of Warwick passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at home. She was the wife of the late Marshall P. Martin, they had been married 56 years at the time of his death. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Peter C. and Hope B. (Bischoff) Smith.
Mrs. Martin graduated from Lockwood High School and received her Undergraduate and Masters Degree from U.R.I. She served as the Director of Christian Education for Greenwood Community Church Presbyterian for 25 years until her retirement in 1995. As an active member of the church, she served as a Deacon, Elder, Presbyterian Women Delegate and started the pre-school at the church. A current member of the Warwick Public Library Board of Trustees where she has served for over 30 years, she was also active in P.E.O. Womenâs Organization.
She was the beloved mother of Bruce A. Martin and his wife Laura of New Bedford, MA and Paul D. Martin and his wife Karen of Fairfield, CT. Loving grandmother of Jennifer L. Martin and Eric M. Martin. Cherished great-grandmother of Cameron P. Martin and Haiden L. Martin.

(11/24/14) Joseph H. Murray, 71, of Matteson Street, Coventry, RI, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, RI. Born in DuBois, PA, he was the husband of Joan C. (Demers) Murray. They were married for forty-six years. He was the son of the late Joseph H. and Josephine (Gray) Murray.
Joseph was a security guard at Kent Hospital, Warwick, RI, for thirty-seven years. Prior to that he worked for American Egg of Crompton, RI. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era.
Besides his wife he is survived by three children: Thomas M. Murray, Kathy C. Sutherland and her husband Ricky and Kristen M. Miller and her husband Adam, two sisters: Leila Jean Marshall and her husband Gary and Susan Truby and her husband Ray and three grandchildren: Kyle, Cameron and Kaiden.

(11/24/14) William C. Falk, Sr., of Maple Root Village, Coventry, RI, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Philip Hulitar Home & Hospice of RI, Providence, RI. Born in Coventry, RI he grew up in the Abbotts Crossing section of the Washington district of Coventry, RI. He was the husband of Mary F. (Sullivan) Falk. They were married for sixty-eight years. He was the son of the late Carl Wilhelm and Doris (Greene) Goozey.
William was a maintenance person at Quonset Point Naval Air Station, North Kingstown, RI for twenty-six years until retiring in 1972. He was a US Marine Corps Veteran of WWII serving four years with the First Marine Division and was the recipient of the Purple Heart medal for being wounded at Guadacanal Campaign in the South Pacific.
Besides his wife he is survived by three sons: William Carl Falk, Jr., Dennis Guy Falk and his wife Carol and Kevin Michael Falk and three grandchildren; Dennis Michael Falk, Jennifer Leigh Falk and William Carl Falk, III. He was predeceased by his sister: Gloria Williams.

(11/26/14) Warwick - Margaret J. Caldwell, 90, died Friday, November 21, 2014 at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond S. Caldwell.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Patrick J. and Sarah V. (Lafferty) McKay. A graduate of Classical High School, Providence, she furthered her education at the University of Rhode Island from where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English, a Masterâs Degree in English and a Masterâs Degree in Library Science.
She worked for many years in various branches of the State Library System before serving as Librarian at the University of Rhode Island for more than 20 years before her retirement.
She was a member of the Rhode Island Library Association, the Warwick Library Book Club and the Jane Austen Society. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and was an avid book collector.
Margaret is survived by her two daughters: Connie Phillips of Warwick and Nancy Caldwell & her husband Peter Kingman of East Greenwich and her daughter-in-law Jane Caldwell of Jamestown. She was a loving âGrammaâ of her eight grandchildren: Jennifer Flaherty, Amanda Phillips, Daniel & Jeffrey Kingman, Emily Street, Matthew Caldwell, Sarah Edwards and Meghan Caldwell, and her four great grandchildren: Alexis Caldwell, Benjamin & William Edwards and Hadley Margaret Street. She was the mother of the late Charles S. Caldwell.

(11/28/14) Norman M. Hill, 93, of Warwick passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2014 at West Shore Health Center. He was the beloved husband of M. Eleanor (Trachsler) Hill for 70 years.
Born in Dundee, Scotland, he was a son of the late Norman M. and Jessie (Hoskins) Hill.
Mr. Hill was a Tool Maker for Politan Tool Co. in Oakland, NJ until his retirement and served in The United States Army during WW II. He was a member of V.F.W. in Wycoff, NJ. He was a train enthusiast and enjoyed making to scale steam engines.
He was the loving father of Karen L. Hill and Leslie A. Hill, both of Warwick and the late Richard B. Hill. Cherished grandfather of five and great grandfather of eight. Caring brother of David Hill and Rita Badami, both of Florida.

(11/28/14) Cumberland â Elizabeth S. âLibbyâ (Wilde) Handrigan Hinchcliffe, 94, of Cumberland passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Robert Hinchcliffe and the late Earl V. Handrigan.
Born in Lincoln, a daughter of the late Watson and Ann Maria (Pilling) Wilde, she had lived in Cumberland for the past 38 years. Libby was well-known for her love of entertaining, especially for her extravagant theme parties. Her greatest joys in life were with time spent with her family and reminiscing about the âold daysâ with them. She was an extremely active woman who was an accomplished ice skater and roller skater. She was an extensive world traveler and would fondly recall her trips to Europe and Hawaii.
Libby and her late husband, Earl were ahead of their time in establishing a recycling business in the 1950âs, Atlas Pallet Corporation of Burrillville.
She is survived by one daughter, Janice Taylor of Rehoboth, MA; one son, Earl Handrigan of North Scituate; one stepdaughter, Carolyn McGlone of Pawtucket; one brother, Wesley Wilde of Winter Haven, FL; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Carl Handrigan and the sister of the late Mary McNaughton, Doris Miller, Ann Burke, Vida McQueen, Marie Coe, Edward Wilde, Walter Wilde, Everett Wilde and Paul Wilde.

Mr. Bonenfant was a Machine Operator for Arkwright Corp. He served in The United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Kent County Korean War Veterans, Chapter 2.
He was the beloved father of Normand A. Bonenfant of Providence and Terrie Harding and her husband Raymond of Nokomis, FL. Loving grandfather of Tammy Smith and Anthony Harding. Curtis B Taylor - , RI
(11/23/14) Curtis Bobbie Taylor was born in Danville, Virginia on September 12, 1930 to Charles Spurgeon Taylor and Ollie Virginia (Hubbard) Taylor. He was the seventh of eight children; he had five sisters and two brothers.
Curtis enlisted in the United States Navy in 1947 at the age of seventeen and was stationed in Pensacola, Florida. Shortly thereafter, he married the love of his life, Margaret Leigh (Calvert) Taylor. They relocated to Rhode Island in 1951, when Curtis was transferred to Quonset Point. There, they would settle in East Greenwich, RI where they started a family: on February, 24, 1954, Curtis and Margaret welcomed a son, Mark Curtis, to the family. Two years later on October 8, 1956, a second son, Paul Lee, would complete their circle of four.
While raising the boys and continuing his career in the Navy, Curtis took part in two notable historic events. In February, 1962, he was stationed aboard the U.S.S. Randolph, which served as the recovery ship for John Glenn\'s first U.S. orbital flight aboard Friendship Seven. Also, in the fall of 1962, he was stationed aboard the U.S.S. Essex, which was part of the U.S. Naval blockade during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Curtis would retire from the Navy in 1967 with twenty years of proud service and experiences he would pass on to future generations.
After he retired, Curtis worked as an elevator mechanic for Shepard Elevator Company for 15 years, and for Hobart Industrial Maintenance for 10 years. He retired in 1992.
Curtis loved gospel music, sports, American cars, and his family. In addition to his loving wife and beloved sons, he was close to his nine grandchildren, and proudly kept a record of his family\'s genealogy in his Bible. He attended church faithfully, and was involved in church leadership at several churches in the local area, including Apponaug Pentecostal Church, North Kingstown Assembly of God and the Solid Rock Assembly of God. Curtis used his love for music in service to the Lord as well, also leading worship on many occasions.
Curtis and Margaret enjoyed 62 years of marriage until her passing in October of 2012. He is survived by his older brother, C.S. Taylor of St. Simon Island, Georgia, his sister Jean (Taylor) Barker of Danville, Virginia, his two sons and their wives, Mark and Anna Taylor of Gurnee, Illinois and Paul and Karen Taylor of South Paris, Maine. His nine grandchildren, Holly (Taylor) Rodriguez and her husband Robert of El Paso, Texas; Megan (Taylor) Vandevanter, and her husband Willis of York, Maine; Erin Taylor of Chicago, Illinois; Cory Taylor of Boston, Massachusetts; Katy (Taylor) Saucedo and her husband, Manuel, of Elkhart, Indiana; Kyle Taylor of Dorchester, Massachusetts; Justin Taylor of Lisle, Illinois; Kirstin Taylor of Gurnee, Illinois; and Kelsey Taylor of Gurnee, Illinois.
He is also survived by many faithful and wonderful friends who have been so generous and helpful over the years.
A funeral service will be held at Solid Rock Assembly of God, 1735 Phenix Avenue, Cranston on Friday, December 5 at 10 AM followed with military burial at RI Veterans Cemetery in Exeter. His Calling hours will be from 3-6 PM in church on Thursday.

(11/29/14) Cumberland â Manuel A. Medeiros, 93, of Cumberland died Friday, November 28, 2014 at the Holiday Retirement Home, Manville. He was the husband of Deolinda (Esteves) Medeiros.
Born in Cumberland, a son of the late Manuel and Eufrosina (Tavares) Medeiros, he had lived in Cumberland for most of his life.
Mr. Medeiros was a serviceman and driver for McKee Bros. Oil Corporation, Cumberland for many years before retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Filibuster Club, Cumberland.
He served as a Gunnerâs Mate in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Sandra L. Simpson and her partner, William S. Roberts of Pawtucket; one sister, Elise Cronshaw of Cumberland; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one niece.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, December 2 at 11 A.M. at BELLOWS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial, with military honors, will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.

Mildred E Kelleher - , RI
(12/01/14) Mildred E. Kelleher, 97, formerly of Warwick, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014 at West View Nursing Home where she spent seven years in their extraordinary care. She was the beloved wife of the late John F. Kelleher.
She was born in Providence on September 10, 1917 to George and Berta Parker and was predeceased by her sisters Rosalind Deal and Florence Parker Simister as well as by her brother Harold Parker.
She is survived by her sons, Stephen E. Kelleher of Rumford and James E. Kelleher of Cranston as well as six grandchildren; Erin Alio, Caitlin Kelleher, Gwen Kelleher, William Kelleher, Meghan Kelleher, and Chloe Kelleher. She leaves her beloved great-granddaughter, Lara Alio.
She was a remarkably gifted artist, a skill that she honed from her earliest years. She earned a scholarship to the Rhode Island School of Design and was graduated in 1939. Mildred contributed her skill to the war effort by working as a technical draftsman for the War Department. By warâs end, she had received training as an occupational therapist, a path which led her to meet the love of her life.
She eventually reentered the workforce and found a home in the world of advertising, a natural fit for one so creative. Prior to her retirement she spent fifteen years as the advertising copy chief for the Outlet Company, and served as its in-house historian. Thereafter she served as the Executive Director of the Warwick Arts Foundation. In retirement, Mildred devoted herself to her passions; her art, her lifelong love of reading, and family. She was still producing beautiful works of art in her nineties. As with all true artists, she left the world a little more interesting than she found it.

(12/01/14) Robert Ellsworth Hoffman, 91 of West Greenwich, died Sunday, November 30, 2014 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice in Providence.
He was the husband of Mildred âMillieâ (Moore) Tanner-Hoffman, and the late Dorothy M. (Ogley) Hoffman.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Orin C. and Priscilla C. (Farmer) Hoffman.
Bob was a Cartographer for the U.S. Government Defense Mapping Agency, before retiring. He was a graduate of Aldrich High School Class of 1942, and a graduate of Vesper George School of Art Class of 1952.
Mr. Hoffman was a WWII Veteran serving in the US Army 101st Airborne Division Company G, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment.
He served in the European, African, and Middle Eastern Campaigns; landing behind enemy lines on D-Day. He was awarded the Distinguished Unit Badge.
He was a member of the Warwick Central Baptist Church for over 60 years, serving as the churchâs President, and as a member of Board of Deacons.
He was a long time member of the Kentish Guards.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son Timothy D. Hoffman and his wife Maria, of Orange City Florida, his stepchildren Clifford E. Tanner of Ohio, Carol J. Tanner of East Greenwich, David F. Tanner of West Greenwich, Steven C. Tanner of East Greenwich.
He was the grandfather of Melina Hoffman R.N., Stefano Hoffman, and Alexander Hoffman.
Mr. Hoffman was the brother of the late June Bouillier, and grandfather of the late Robert Hoffman.
His funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00am in the Warwick Central Baptist Church, 3270 Post Road, Warwick.

(12/01/14) ROY, Nere R., 85, of Glendale Drive, West Warwick, passed away Monday morning, Dec. 1, 2014 at home.
He was the husband of the late Muriel A. (Howland) Roy. Born in West Warwick, a son of the late Nere A. and Alice D. (Lemieux) Roy. He was a lifelong resident of West Warwick.
Mr. Roy, a general contractor for 50 years and co-owner along with his brothers, Edgar and Ronnie of Nere Roy & Sons Builders, before retiring in 1996. He was a 1947 graduate of West Warwick High School and was one of two young men of the class to graduate with honors, a Korean War Veteran serving in the 45th Army Division, member of the West Warwick American Legion Post 2, enjoyed traveling, golfing and bowling where he sponsored a team.
He is survived by a son, Jeffrey S. Roy, with whom he lived; his companion, Marilyn Deloge; a brother, Ronnie Roy of West Warwick and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Cathy M. Roy and brother of the late Edgar Roy.

Doris S (Shrader) Soder - , RI
(11/29/14) Soder, Doris R. (Shrader), 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Arthur Soder Jr. Born in Madison County, AL, she was the daughter of the late Emmet and Jennie (Boles) Shrader.
Doris was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. She worked for Duquette\\\'s Market and Dial Media for many years; however her main job was to be a Mom and Nana. She knew how to make anyone feel welcome with her inviting and warm personality. Doris was a member of the former Peoples Baptist and Shawomet Baptist Churches and recently Woodbury Union Church; furthermore she enjoyed gardening, antiquing, singing in the choir, cooking and joining her weekly breakfast group. She lived an exuberant and happy life with so much to offer to others.
Doris is survived by two sons: Gregory A. Soder and his wife Susan of West Kingston and Philip M. Soder and his wife Carolann of Warwick; four grandchildren: Russell A. Soder, Kerrilyn A. McCarthy, Renee Fallon and Kurtis Fallon; two great-grandchildren: Hunter McCarthy and Brooklyn Soder; two brothers: Charles Shrader and Bobby Shrader both of Birmingham, AL and her life long friend and sister-in-law Louise Colwell of Warwick.
A funeral service will take place at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home and Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick on Thursday, December 4 at 10:30 AM followed with a military burial at RI Veterans Cemetery in Exeter. (11/29/14) Warwick- Balfour, Margaret H., 82, passed away at home on Saturday, November 29, 2014. Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late William and Flora (Dobson) Balfour. She is predeceased by a sister Harriet W. Cripps.

Sister Mary L Malley, RSM - , RI
(12/02/14) Sister Mary Lea Malley, RSM, 83, a Sister of Mercy, a retired educator and administrator, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Mount St. Rita Health Centre, Cumberland, Rhode Island.
Born Elizabeth Barbara Malley in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Walsh) Malley. She entered the Sisters of Mercy on September 8, 1948 and professed her vows on August 16, 1954. She was a graduate of the former St. Xavier Academy in Providence and earned a Bachelor of Education from the former Catholic Teachers College of Providence, and a Master of Education from Rhode Island College. She did post-graduate work in Leadership at Boston College.
Sister was also a certified youth minister for the Diocese of Providence. She taught in elementary education and was a principal in both the Dioceses of Providence and Fall River. Her last seven years in education were at Mercymount Country Day School in Cumberland as the Financial Officer. Upon retiring after 50 years in education, she worked at University Cardiology Foundation in Providence.
In addition to the Sisters of Mercy, her religious family, she leaves a brother, James J. Malley and his wife, Patricia of Warwick, RI; a brother-in-law, Raymond of North Attleboro, MA and twenty nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was the sister of the late Eileen L. Malley, Roberta J. Trainor, Patricia M. Delisle, Stephen C. Malley, Jr., and Marjorie A. Morrissey.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 11:00 am at Mount St. Rita Chapel, Cumberland, RI. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 am with a Mercy Prayer Service at 10:20 am. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.

Claire (Groslouis) Bacon - , RI
(12/02/14) Coventry - Claire (Groslouis) Bacon, 79, of Coventry Drive died Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Kent Hospital, Warwick. She was the beloved wife of the late Normand E. Bacon with whom she celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on January 21, 2013.
Born in Putnam, CT, she was the daughter of the late Amie and Florien (Beauregard) Groslouis. She worked as a security officer for 15 years; previously working for 17 years as a waitress at Jordan Marsh in the Warwick Mall and in customer service at Linens ân Things and at Michaels.
She is survived by three children: James C. Bacon of North Kingstown, Anne Cantrell of Coventry and Glenn D. Bacon of Coventry; four grandchildren: Nicholas David Bacon, Danielle Lynn Bacon, Amanda Nicole Cantrell & Geoffrey Cain, and one sister: Constance Petrarca of Warwick.
Her funeral service will be held Friday, December 5, 2014 at 10 AM at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick.
