(09/16/13) Cumberland â Christine (Strycharz) Bozek, 60, of Bishop Drive died Sunday, September 15, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Frank J. Bozek.
Born in Chicopee, MA, a daughter of Wanda (Kaczmarczyk) Strycharz of Smithfield and the late John Strycharz, she had lived in Chicopee, MA for many years, before moving to Cumberland in 1979.
Chris was a microbiologist at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence for 35 dedicated years. She was a graduate of Chicopee (MA) High School and Framingham State University.
She was a communicant of St. John Vianney Church, Cumberland.
Chris was an avid gardener who enjoyed traveling, entertaining friends and family, and listening to music especially that of her daughter Julieâs band. She also adored her faithful kitty companions. Most of all Chris treasured times spent with her husband on the beaches of the Caribbean and North Carolina.
Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by her two loving daughters, Emily Vaillancourt and her husband, Kris, and Julie Bozek, all of Attleboro, MA; two nieces; and many cousins.
Her funeral will be held THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 at 9:30 A.M. from BELLOWS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. in St. John Vianney Church, 3655 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Burial will be private.
