(10/03/13) Edna (Scott) Saunders, 95, of Warwick, formerly of Pawtucket, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Kent Hospital. She was the wife of the late Nelson Saunders and the late Arthur Clayton. Born in North Providence, she was a daughter of the late Robert Scott and Anna (Best) McKay.
Edna was a supervisor for the Rhode Island Textile Co. in Pawtucket until her retirement. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Adah Chapter No. 5 and enjoyed traveling, camping and reading.
She was the beloved step-mother of Barbara A. Landry of Denver, CO. Loving step-grandmother of Linda Johnston, Maureen Dieterich and Paul, David and Chris Landry. Cherished step great-grandmother of nine. Caring sister of David McKay of Warwick and the late Stephen McKay, John McKay and Jean Fleming. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated on Monday, October 7, 2013 at 10:00 am in St. Mark\'s Episcopal Church, 111 West Shore Road, Warwick. Burial will follow in Moshassuck Cemetery, Central Falls. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 3-5 pm in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95).
