(10/22/13) John P. “Johnny” Smith, Jr. 40, of West Warwick Avenue died Monday at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, a son of John P. Smith of Cranston and the late Pauline (Pichette) Smith, he had lived in Providence for many years before recently moving to West Warwick. Mr. Smith was a supervisor at Sullivan Tire for the past five years and also worked for the Garden Hills Deli for many years. He was a long time Rhode Island Little League umpire and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. Besides his father, he leaves a brother, Gregory S. Smith and his wife Andria of Warwick and a sister, Tammy M. Lamarsh of Warwick. He was the uncle of Jacklyn Lamarsh, Jessica Lamarsh, Matthew Lamarsh, Ola LaRose, Angela MacCarthy, Cody J. Smith, Jailynne LaRose and Sophia MacCarthy. His funeral will be Thursday at 9 AM from the Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rita Church, Oakland Beach Avenue, Warwick at 10 AM. Calling Hours Wednesday 4-8 PM. Burial will be in Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
