(10/18/10) West Warwick - Alton T. Dowling, 93, a line foreman for the former Narragansett Electric Company for forty-eight years before retiring in 1982 died Sunday, October 17, 2010 at Kent Regency in Warwick. He was the beloved husband of the late Regina M. (Ekbergh) Dowling for 59 years.
Born in Providence he was a son of the late Willis D. and Elizabeth S. (Barlow) Dowling.
He leaves four sisters, Sally Van Horn of Fallston, MD, Dorothy Corrigan of North Kingstown, Ruth Brady of North Providence and Barbara Molloy of Providence and two brothers, James W. Dowling of Coventry and Harry A. Dowling of Narragansett. He was the brother of the late Willis D. Dowling, Jr., Elizabeth Pringle, Alberta Taylor and Carolyn Alexander.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 10:30 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 596 Jefferson Blvd., Warwick. Burial will be private. Information and condolences at www.carpenterjenks.com.
