(03/10/14) Evelyn T. Thurston, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at the West View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center on Sunday, March 9, 2014, three days shy of her 87th birthday.
She was the wife of the late George A.Thurston, Sr. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Barbara H. (Moffitt) Keenan and resided in West Warwick for most of her life.
Mrs. Thurston was a jewelry assembler at Cabot Manufacturing for many years before retiring in 1983. She enjoyed writing poetry in her earlier years as well as
listening to country music. However, her greatest pleasure in life came from spending time playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with whom she leaves many happy memories.
She leaves her children, Marilyn J. Yeager of West Warwick, Richard Ramer of West Warwick, Robert Ramer of Bedford, NH and George Thurston, Jr. of Apopka, FL; two brothers, Bradley Keenan of West Greenwich and Francis Keenan of Boulder, CO; eight grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She was sister of the late Edna Remington, Laura Lavoie, Edward, William and George Keenan.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 10 â 12 p.m. in the HENAULT-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy St., West Warwick, followed by interment in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
