(10/23/10) Eleanor L. McCaffrey, died at South County Hospital on Friday, October 22, 2010. Born in Central Falls, she was daughter of the late Thomas and Anita (Landry) McCaffrey.
Miss McCaffrey was a graduate of the St. Josephâs School of Nursing. She worked as a civilian employee of the U.S. Navy at Quonset Naval Hospital as a maternity nurse and later at Newport Naval Hospital where she received commendations as charge nurse of the pediatric clinic.
Miss McCaffrey is survived by ten nieces and nephews and nine grand-nieces and nephews. She was the sister of Thomas J. McCaffrey Jr. of Florida and the late Robert A. McCaffrey, Rhode Island State Police Retired.
Friends may call Monday, October 25, at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick from 8:15 â 9:15 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM in St. Francis de Sales Church, 381 School Street, North Kingstown, followed by burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland. In lieu of flowers, donations to Joslin Clinic, One Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215 will be appreciated.
