Antoinette E Sicard - , RI

(05/21/14) Antoinette E. Sicard, 86, of Moskalyk Street, West Warwick, passed away at home on Saturday, May 17, 2014. Born in West Warwick, she was the beloved wife of Raymond J. Sicard. She was the daughter of the late Henry M. and Eliza (Lautieri) Cipolla. Antoinette was very involved in the West Warwick political scene for most of her adult life. She was a member of the West Warwick Republican Town Committee for forty-six years and was active in voter registration. She was known to have challenged thousands of voters for proper voter registration. She spent many years as a lobbyist for consumer legislation and assisted in repealing the Fair Trade law. She was also a member of the \\\"Reform 92\\\" during the banking crisis. She was also the Executive Secretary to former Senator Donald Roch. Antoinette held many jobs including working for J.J. Newberry, Providence Insurance Co., the West Warwick Employment Office and the U.S. Navy Construction Battalion Center, Davisville. She retired from work to raise her two children and be a homemaker. In her later years she delivered flowers for the former Ferns & Flowers. Besides her husband, she is survived by two loving daughters, Nancy A. Wells of Coventry, and Lisa P. Buben of Hope. She was the sister of Anthony and his wife Phyllis Cipolla of Sun City West, Arizona, Patricia H. and her late husband, Joseph Brochu. She was sister of the late Theresa Cipolla Atkins. Cherished grandmother of Amber and Cynthia Wells and Cameron and Kyle Gerard. Great-grandmother of Aiden Colon. She was awaiting the birth of second great-grandchild due in September. Her funeral will be held Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 9:00am from the PRATA- MURPHY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick, followed by a service at 10:00am in the Riverpoint Advent Christian Church, 1107 Main Street, West Warwick. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Warwick. Visiting hours will be held Friday evening from 4-7pm.
