(05/21/14) Kornelia E. Mergner, 57, of Main Street, West Warwick, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014. Born in Erfurt, Germany she was the beloved wife of Peter J. Hefferen. She was the daughter of Gunther and Brigitta Baumbach of Germany.
Kornelia was the Manager of the Software Engineering Division of TACO Inc. in Cranston. Prior to this position she was Vice President of Engineering for American Auto â Max Inc. She held a Master\'s Degree in Engineering and was in the process of obtaining a Master\'s Degree in Software Engineering.
Kornelia was an avid sportswoman, running marathons and enjoyed mountain climbing in Italy and Austria.
Besides her husband and parents, Kornelia is survived by one son Markus Mergner of Germany, a brother Norbert Baumbach, also of Germany. Beloved Grandmother of Selma and Annalena Mergner, both of Germany.
Funeral and burial will be private.
