(10/28/10) Gary Wayne Fiddes, One of God\'s Special Children, passed away after his courageous battle with cancer at his home on Grayson Avenue, Warwick, RI, on October 26, 2010. Gary was born on July 22, 1974, in Warwick, RI and was the loving son of Clark and Dearne Fiddes (Sarll).
Gary graduated in 1995 from the Washington Annex Work Study Program at Coventry High School. He loved meeting people, music, dancing, boating, coloring and collecting key chains.
Gary was supported by the wonderful staff from Perspective Corporation who embraced him as family for the last 14 years. He participated for many years with Special Olympics where he won many Gold Medals for his running ability, and in later years for the soft ball throw. He was also a participant in the recreation program at the Trudeau Memorial Center in Warwick.
Besides his parents, Gary leaves a brother, Clark, two sisters, Karen Counterman (husband Mark) and sister Sandra Menders, his Grandmother, Irene Sarll in England, four nephews, many aunts, uncles and cousins, and his second family, Timmy McCarthy and Eric Friedman, whom he shared his life with.
Gary touched everyone with his unconditional love and outgoing personality. He will be remembered and missed by all.
A Celebration of Life Service for Gary will be held at the Riverpoint Congregational Church, 75 Providence Street, West Warwick, RI on November 6, 2010 at 10:30 am.
