(01/06/15) Richard D. Denton, 83, of New London Turnpike, Coventry, RI, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Kent Hospital, Warwick, RI. Born in Warwick, RI, he was the husband of Cecelia L. (Parenty) Denton. They were married for sixty-five years. He was the son of the late William and Eva (Paul) Denton.
Richard was a truck driver for Coutu Lumber for many years.
Besides his wife he is survived by five children; Richard D. Denton, Jr., Dennis W. Denton, Debbie Rankin, Carol Lopes and Katherine Cain, nine brothers, three sisters, eighteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 7:00 pm in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home and Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Calling hours will be prior from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Burial will be private.
