(02/21/15) Cumberland – Muriel E. (Flinkfelt) Bryant, 88 of Fort Pierce, FL and formerly of Cumberland, died Monday, February 16, 2015 at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center, Fort Pierce, FL. She was the wife of the late George R. Bryant. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Ellis and Nellie M. (Hall) Flinkfelt, she had lived in Cumberland before moving to Florida over 20 years ago. Mrs. Bryant was a secretary at the Outlet Company, Providence and had also worked for the Providence Gas Company, Ann & Hope and New York Lace Store. In Florida, she had worked at the Del Ray Mercury Car Dealership. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Port St. Lucie, FL and a former member of Bethany Baptist Church, Pawtucket. She volunteered at the Mustard Seed in Port St. Lucie. She is survived by her children, E. Andrew Bryant of Port St. Lucie, FL, Douglas Bryant of Cumberland, and Cindy O’Malley of Westerly; one sister, Hazel Gauvin of Lincoln; one brother, Joseph Flinkfelt of Vienna, VA; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Vernon, Warren and Elnord Flinkfelt. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 25 at 11 A.M. at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial will be in Moshassuck Cemetery, Central Falls. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday 4-7 P.M.
