(09/21/15) Iannotti, Gerald \"Chip\" A., 70, while surrounded by his family and in the comfort of his home passed away on Monday, September 21, 2015. Married for 48 wonderful years, he was the husband of Nancy D. (Mitchell) Iannotti of Coventry. He was born in Providence, RI to the late Henry and Yolanda F. (Gauedreau) Iannotti.
Mr. Iannotti, Chip, lived and breathed anything automotive or in the auto industry. He retired from Richard\'s Automotive in Arctic as supervisor in 1984, but retirement came early due to health concerns. After high school he, without hesitation, started his career as an automotive mechanic. He often worked on racecars at multiple speedways and made many friends in the world of car racing. Naturally he had a Nascar fascination with which many memories were made as he would have \'Daytona\' gatherings at his house on Johnsons pond. Chip was a diehard Dale Earnhardt fan.
Chip was a life-long Coventry resident on Johnsons Pond which has been in the family since the 1940\'s. He grew up fishing and boating on that pond and peacefully passed away overlooking the same water he had once chartered as a child.
Besides his beloved wife Nancy; he is survived by two children: Rodney Iannotti (his wife Barbara) of Richmond, RI and Dawn Iannotti of Coventry, RI; granddaughter and the love of his life: Emma Elisabeth Rose; a sister Barbara Silvestri of East Greenwich, RI and his nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother John Iannotti.
A Catholic Prayer Service will take place at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick, RI on Friday, September 25 at 10:00 AM followed with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in West Greenwich, RI.
