(10/08/15) Mulligan, Jean E. (Gaertner), 64, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Kent Regency in Warwick. Married for 42 wonderful years, she was the wife of Thomas R. Mulligan of Coventry, RI. She was born in Montclair, NJ to the late Frederick and Virginia (Cote) Gaertner.
Her eclectic career began as a hairdresser, but after college, Jean was operations manager for 20 years for an international cleanroom products corporation. Later she was president of TechMart Distribution Inc. and in 2010 a founder and board member of TechTrak LLC of Coventry RI.
Her passions started with family and friends and included painting, entertaining, travel, her dogs and golf, a 14 year member of Potowomut GC. Jean was involved in a number of volunteer groups, but her focus was Women and Infants New Mothers Support group.
Jean was predeceased by her daughter Kerry Mulligan who sadly passed away shortly after being born. She also had two sons: Thomas âTomâ Mulligan (his wife Sue) of Coventry, RI and Sean Mulligan (his wife Rachel) of Warren, RI; five grandchildren: Alexis, Tommy, Joey, Michael and Rileigh and a brother: Gary Gaertner (his wife Linda) of Highlands Ranch, CO.
A Mass of Christian Burial and processional gathering will take place at SS. John & Paul Church, 341 South Main Street, Coventry, RI on Thursday, October 15 at 10 AM followed by a burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich, RI.
Calling hours will be at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick, RI, Wednesday 5 to 8 PM.
