(03/29/16) SMEAL, Anthony J., 85, of Junior Street, West Warwick, passed away Monday, March 28, 2016, at home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the beloved husband of Mary Rose (Lima) Smeal. Born in West Warwick, a son of the late Emmanuel and Christina (Manish) Smeal.
Mr. Smeal was a maintenance worker for the former Hoechst Chemical Company in Coventry for many years before retiring. He was a Korean War Army Veteran and he was a member of the American Legion Post 2, West Warwick.
Besides his wife he leaves a son, Steven A. Smeal and his wife Debra of West Warwick; a brother, Michael Smeals of West Warwick; a sister, Beatrice Pacheco of Hernando, FL; three grandchildren; Jennifer Marra and her husband Nicholas, Ashleigh Smeal and her fiancé Joel Celendonia, and Brittany Smeal and a great-grandson, Steven A. Marra. He was the brother of the late Mary Lima and Emmanuel Smeals.
His funeral will be held Friday, April 1, 2016 at 8:00 am from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence St. West Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 am in St. Anthony Church, Maple Ave., West Warwick. Interment with military honors will follow in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
