George J. Freitas, 72, of Danforth Street died Sunday evening at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Diane L. (Joseph) Freitas.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Joseph and Agnes (Mesolella) Freitas, he had lived in Warwick for the past forty-five years. Mr. Freitas was an environmental technician with the F.A.A. for thirty years before retiring in 2005. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Joseph G. Freitas of Memphis, TN and David J. Freitas of Warwick; Two daughters, Michelle D. Freitas and Amanda A. Freitas both of Warwick; a sister, Joyce Hendrickson of Warwick and five grandchildren.
His funeral will be Friday at 9 AM from the Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Peter Church, Fair Street Warwick at 10 AM. Calling Hours Thursday 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory to the American Cancer Society will be appreciated.
